Charles has 25 years of experience in the practice of architecture. Ten of those years have been with Lars Langberg Architects doing what he can to help the practice grow.
Charles is an avid fly fisherman, skier, and outdoorsman. His love of the outdoors led him back to his home state of Colorado after learning everything he could about California’s southern and northern schools of architectural design. Currently, Charles is leading the Denver office with a staff of three and now serving new clients in Denver and Boulder as well as California clients.
Experienced in both residential and commercial architecture, Charles’s skills incorporate full-design services including; conceptual design, space planning, construction documentation, construction administration for a range of project types from single-family residential, multi-family, hospitality and restaurant, and commercial office remodels and new construction.
From the planning and design of single-family homes and attached or detached second units to full estate planning on the residential side to resort hospitality projects requiring the planning of multiple new buildings with new utility infrastructure on the commercial side Charles has gained valuable experience collaborating and coordinating with soils, civil, and structural engineers to MEP, fire protection, and accessibility consultants to create successful projects.
Charles has also been actively involved in the firm’s design approach to high-performance building design. As a firm we have committed to evolving our design approach to emphasize energy efficiency and sustainability to each client no matter their budget. Lars Langberg Architects is now a signatory to the AIA’s 2030 Commitment to designing more energy-efficient buildings and tracking our progress year over year.
Charles is also active in community service through his service on the Board of Directors for the Lion Project and his service to veterans through his service to Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing.
In 2022 the Lion Project provided services to foster families in need. Charles collaborated with the Lion Project team and two foster families to design improvements to their homes so those families can raise their foster kids in better environments.
